Beginning in 1985, the German Doctors, situated on Mortola Avenue, at the back of Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan, has served nearly two thousand voluntary missions in the Philippines and counting. As a registered non-government organization in the country, they cater to over 130,000 treatments each year, from common colds to skin diseases and tuberculosis.The medical organization also operates in a basic medical hospital in Valencia, Bukidnon and provides services such as antenatal, obstetrics, and dental care in rural areas through their Rolling Clinics.Working closely with the Dr Jose P Rizal School of Medicine of Xavier University, the German Doctors provides institutional support and training opportunities for XU medical students to become "doctors for others" — sensitive, responsive as well as committed in addressing the needs of society, particularly in Northern Mindanao.
